Saint Michel Fortified Churh

Cisnadioara, Romania

Continue your trip through the fortified churches in Transylvania and discover the early romanesque style here in Cisnadioara. The fortified church dedicated to Saint Michel, is surrounded by an oval shaped fortified wall and it is one of the few Romanesque buildings of Transylvania which did not suffer any Gothic "modernization" during the XIII and XIV century. Located on a high hill, you will get a nice panormaic view of the surroundings, including the city of Cisnadie and the imposants mountins around.

The legends are guarding this wonderful monument, like the legend of the rocks around or the legend of the matrimonial prison. So, come and take a walk on the steps of history!
