Sibiu and Surroundings: Transylvania's Heart of Tradition and Adventure
Step into a fairy tale in Sibiu, a vibrant medieval city in the heart of Transylvania. With its colorful squares, unique architecture, and preserved historical sites, the city is a living museum. Yet, the experience doesn't end in the Old Town. Just beyond the city walls lies a vast landscape of snow-capped peaks, verdant forests, and traditional Saxon villages waiting to be explored.
Sibiu: A city with personality
Large and Small Squares (Piața Mare and Piața Mică): Walk through Sibiu's historic heart, which features centuries-old buildings, cafes, and restaurants. Don't miss the Council Tower (Turnul Sfatului) for a panoramic view of the city.
Bridge of Lies: Take a picture of this iconic landmark. Legend has it that the bridge will creak and shake if a liar crosses it.
ASTRA Museum: This open-air museum is one of the largest in Europe and showcases traditional Romanian life, featuring over 400 buildings and 10 kilometers of alleys.
"The City with Eyes": Notice the unique, eye-like dormer windows on the roofs of many houses in the city. They are a signature feature of Sibiu's Old Town.
