Itinerary:

Day 1 (Sa.): Arrival in Bucharest- Bucharest city tour (50 km)

The guide will await you at the Otopeni or Baneasa Airport in Bucharest holding a nameplate with your name on it. Transfer to the hotel in Bucharest. After a refreshment break, we visit the city with its main attraction points: The Press House, the Kisselef Boulevard, The Arch of Triumph, the Victoriei Square, the Victoriei Street, the Revolution Square, the Cotroceni Palace, the Palace of the Parliament and other old streets like the Lipscani Street. Dinner in a traditional Romanian Restaurant with Valachian specialties, situated near the Hotel.

Day 2 (Su.): Bucharest - Ploiesti - Sinaia - Brasov (190 km)

After visiting the Palace of the Parliament, the second largest building in the world (after the Pentagon), we drive north towards Brasov. On our way, we are going to see the famous oil fields near Ploiesti. We will have lunch in Sinaia. Next, we visit the summer residence of the Romanian royal family. The kings were all of German Prussian origin from the Hohenzollern von Singmaringen family. In the afternoon we arrive in Brasov (Kronstadt). Dinner and accommodation for two nights in the City of the Crown.

Day 3 (Mo.): Brasov, the city from the Middle Ages and Citadels of the Barsa Land (60 km)

City tour in Brasov (3 hours walking time), where we see the most important cultural objectives of the medieval city: the town hall square, the Black Church (we visit it inside too), the Weaver Bastion, the White and Black Tower, etc. Lunch break in the city. In the afternoon we will drive to Bran (Törzburg) where we are going to see the so-called Dracula Castle. Dinner in Poiana Brasov at a traditional touristic shepherd's house. After dinner, we drive back to Brasov.

Day 4 (Tue.): Brasov - Prejmer - Viscri - Sighisoara (150 km)

First, we visit, in Prejmer, the best-preserved peasant`s citadel from the Barsa Land. After a two hours drive, we arrive at a small village - Viscri (in German Deutsch-Weisskirch) where we will find out more about the "Mihai Eminescu Trust" and its restoration project. Viscri is an abandoned village that now comes back to life. In this village, Prince Charles of the U.K. has a house.

In the afternoon we drive to Sighisoara (Schässburg), a UNESCO city. We visit the city and see the main touristic objectives of the so-called "Rothenburg ob der Taube from Transylvania": the Clock Tower, the Covered Staircase, Dracula`s birth house, etc. Dinner in Dracula`s birth house. Overnight in Sighisoara.

Day 5 (We.): UNESCO in Transylvania: Sighisoara - Biertan - Medias - Valea Viilor - Sibiu (160 km)

First, we visit the fortified church in Biertan, which used o be the Bishops` residence for more than 300 years. We will visit the old Pharmacy. Afterward. we go to Medias, to visit the Church Castle. On our way, we pass through Richis and Mosna. In the afternoon we drive to the 3rdUNESCO fortified Church in Valea Viilor/ Wurmloch. After visiting the church we drive to Sibiu. Dinner and accommodation for 2 nights in Sibiu.

Day 6 (Thu.): Sibiu - European Cultural Capital 2007 & Surroundings (60 km)

After breakfast, we make a city tour of the European Cultural Capital 2007. We visit, among others the Evangelical Church, the Council Tower, The large and the Small Square, the Liars` Bridge, the Peasants` Market, etc. Lunch break and free time in Sibiu. In the afternoon we drive to Cristian/ Großau, where we see the Fortified Church, and also to Sibiel to see the unique Icons Museum (naive reverse glass painting). Here we have dinner with a Romanian peasant family. After dinner, we drive back to Sibiu.

Day 7 (Fr.): Sibiu - Curtea de Arges - Pitesti - Bucuresti (290 km)

Today we head along the Olt River towards South. First, we go to the Monastery in Curtea de Arges, a mix of Islamic and Orthodox architecture. Next, we drive through Pitesti until we reach Bucharest.

Free time late in the afternoon in Bucharest / "the little Paris" of the East.

Dinner and accommodation in Bucharest.

Day 8 (Sa.): Flight back home (20 km)

Transfer to the airport. Here you say goodbye to the guide.
